Who We Are
HSS Vancouver Chapter
HSS Vancouver is the British Columbia chapter of Hrvatska Seljačka Stranka, the Croatian Peasant Party. We are a community organization for Croatians and friends of Croatia living in the Vancouver area and across BC.
Our chapter was established to keep Croatian culture, language, and identity alive among Croatians living outside of Croatia. We organize events, support newcomers, and maintain strong ties to our homeland and the wider Croatian diaspora.
Membership is open to all who share our values of community, heritage, and democratic tradition.
Our Heritage
The Croatian Peasant Party
Founded in 1904 by brothers Antun and Stjepan Radić, Hrvatska Seljačka Stranka has been a cornerstone of Croatian political and civic life for over a century. Built on principles of peace, democracy, and the dignity of the Croatian people, HSS became a symbol of national identity during some of Croatia's most challenging decades.
Today, HSS chapters worldwide carry that legacy forward among the diaspora. Vancouver's chapter continues the tradition of bringing Croatians together in the spirit of community and mutual support.
We honour where we came from while building something lasting here in Canada.
